Day 23 Queenstown

Our last day of cycling at least with Pedal Tours. Just 80 kms and the Crown Range lies between us and Queenstown. The first 25 kms is fast and we are soon at the Cardrona Hotel and Pub , dating back to 1863 , for a mandatory flat white. The next 15 kms is the climb to the top of the Crown Range the last 3 km being quite steep. The views at the top are worth the climb and the 10 km decent on the other side, negotiating several switchbacks which come right back on themselves, is definitely worth the climb. Soon we are in Arrowtown , a historic gold mining town, for lunch. It has been threatening rain all morning but the sun comes out when we are stopped. The run to Queenstown after lunch is fast. We have our last group meal at a very nice restaurant on he waterfront. A great day but tomorrow at breakfast we will say goodbye to some new friends.
