Day 22 Wanaka

It is off to Wanaka today..  only 63 km but lots of climbing. It is another great day for weather and scenery and the time passes quickly. We are in Wanaka by 1 pm. . a beautiful town right on the lake. On the trip we pass Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea . Except for a tiny piece of land , called The Neck which separates the two it would be one large lake. Lake Hawea has hydro-electric power generation on it and it can be artificially raised for that purpose. We are coming back here after the cycling trip so we take it easy this afternoon. We visit the local medical clinic for expert advise on Mabel's knee scrape which is not healing up as it should. Doctor dresses it and gives ok to carry on !
