Today was an awesome day. We started by going on a guided mountain bike ride through the Tree Trunk Gorge, a 14km woods trail up and down hills and over rocks and tree roots. At one point Daniel our 22 year old guide piggybacked Mabel across a creek so she would not get her feet wet. It proved to be difficult but a great learning experience. At the end of the trail on the Tongariro River we were treated to lunch and prepared for our rafting trip down the river. We spent the next 2.5 hours rafting over more then 60 grade 3 rapids. We stopped part way down for a jump off the rocks into the cold river water.
